More Books Bound!

I had my encore 'Book Binding with Metal' class today at the Scrapbook Cupboard. This class is long, it should be called a workshop. At 4 hours (+ a little more today) it's packed with all sorts of information. Metal Embossing, Wrinkle Free Distress with Ranger Distress inks, Spritz and Flick with Distress inks, spritzing with Colorwash, GlimmerMists, Radient Rains and/or Memory Mists. And then binding it all together with a long stitch. While I certainly didn't 'invent' the Long Stitch, I wasn't able to find one that suited my needs. Easy yet Simple and Beautiful. So I made one up. I'm sure that someone else did this before and it might be slightly different that the 'correct' way but it works and it holds up well.

So, today I had 10 talented women working on all their own albums. The choices were either Black or Brown Metal and then they chose the colors on the inside and then the color of the floss on the long stitch. Here are all their completed journals...

Didn't they all do a wonderful job! I really hope they all enjoyed it. THANK YOU !! To all those that joined me today!
While I probably won't be holding this class again until maybe next Spring, I think I'll definitely have to come up with some more book binding classes. I think it gives people such a satisfaction to know that you completed a journal on your own. Created from chipboard, paper and floss.
Next, I'm going to work on my Metal Wreath. Keep your eyes peeled. It'll be posted by Tuesday, I'm sure of it. Right now, I'm getting the kids off to bed, True Blood starts in an hour!

Beautiful books!
But I hate that expression, keep your eyes peeled...gives me the heebie-jeebies...So although I will be looking forward to seeing the metal wreath, I won't peel my eyes waiting! :-)
