Got on the bus today!
And went to Kindergarten!
I know my picture isn't the greatest. The silly camera strap got in the way. He was so excited to go. We were all ready to get on the bus and waiting at 11:50 AM. Exactly when we were told to be there. School for afternoon Kindergarten starts at 12:20PM. We waited, and waited and waited some more. There are no other kids waiting in our neighborhood so I really felt like we were waiting alone and that maybe the bus wasn't coming. I called the school and they told me to be patient that they were running behind. Hmm.... well. I really didn't want to miss the first day of school bus photos so we waited. Did I mention we waited? Yup! Did I mention that school started at 12:20? Yah, the bus showed up at 12:45PM. By the time the bus got to the house, we were hot and Bryce was a little on the antsy side. But when he saw that bus come around the corner, he was ready! Well, except for when it came, he says... Oh wait, I wanna dress like a cowboy! What!! No, way! It's time to get on the bus! He was a brave cowboy and gave kisses and jumped right on!
Now, school gets out at 2:50PM. Caleb and Bryce are on the same bus on the way home. Last week when Caleb went to school, he didn't regularly get home until 3:45PM. And that was with no Kindergarteners. Today, they were home by 4PM. Safe and Sound. I really feel as if there's a problem with the buses. They really need to be addressed. We live about a mile away from the school and literally it would take me 2 minutes to get there from my house. I know there are lots of people to drop off/pick up but an hours worth? And for Bryce to be late to school? I'm hoping it'll change for tomorrow but the bus driver didn't seem too hopeful. Hmmm...
All in all, Bryce had a wonderful first day of school. He met lots of new friends. So new, he can't remember their names. Oh well. Maybe tomorrow he'll catch a name. He enjoyed everything about school so far. Yippee!
I thought I'd share a little tidbit Caleb told me. He had told his teacher, Mrs. Samuelson that his little brother was coming to Kindergarten today. He asked and was granted access to go down to the Kindergarten classes and say Hello and make sure Bryce was doing ok. What brotherly love!!

I agree...some HUGE problems with the buses this year. Hopefully they'll work out the problems soon. Congratulations to Bryce on his first day of school! Glad to hear he had a good time. That was so sweet of Caleb to go say "hi"!
I was so proud of Caleb. And Bryce too! He is still loving school. But the squeaky wheel is getting the grease next week. They've added two more Kindergarten buses. Now he'll actually get picked up before school starts!!!
